The Elle TENS with contraction timer is the ultimate in obstetric TENS machines. Don’t risk either not having access to one in hospital or worse being given one that is broken or ineffective.

This TENS machine covers all your labour needs through to post birth and more! This unit can operate in:

Birth mode (Obstetric TENS) with contraction timer & Boost button
General pain mode suitable for many chronic & acute pain conditions such as back pain, shoulder pain, arthritis, sciatica, sports injuries, migraine, period pain and postoperative pain.
Pelvic mode with vaginal probe for pelvic floor toning (not included).

Elle Tens Modes

Birth mode

Burst mode – generally used between contractions
Boost mode for combating additional pain during contractions

General pain mode

Constant mode – Pulses are continuous and feel like a tingly sensation. This mode is generally used for acute pain conditions.
Burst mode – Pulses are off and on in a regular cycle and will feel like a heartbeat sensation. This mode is generally used for chronic pain conditions.
Massage mode – The pulses decrease and then increase in regular cycles creating a massaging sensation.
Mixed mode – 3 seconds of Constant and 3 seconds of Burst as described above.

Some Health funds provide rebates for hire costs - check with fund.

We have both the Elle Tens+ and Elle Tens 2 machine for hire both have very similar capabilities.

TENS Machine Hire Terms

Hire of our TENS machines is dependent on you agreeing to these terms and returning/signing our contract agreement prior to hire. Any damage will be charged to the credit card provided as security on initial hire.

1. Your labour TENS machine will come with everything you need to use it, including two sets of new electrode pads, lead wires and fresh batteries.

2. Instructions for using your labour TENS machine will be provided with your hire.

3. You must not use a labour TENS machine before 37 weeks of pregnancy, near or in water, over the abdomen, on the head or in the vicinity of children. You must not use a TENS machine if you have a pacemaker, heart disease or epilepsy.

4. Please check with your medical care provider to ensure that using a labour TENS machine is right for you. You should only use your labour TENS machine under advice and guidance from your care provider.

5. It is your responsibility to ensure that the hire product is returned with all accessories provided (except used pads).

6. If your hire product returned to us, is damaged by accident or misuse, you will be liable for the repair or replacement cost of the unit at $230. If the hire product is lost or stolen, you will need to reimburse us for the full cost of the unit and accessories without incident. Your credit card will be billed for damaged, lost or stolen items at the full cost of replacement unit. Photos of the TENS machine to demonstrate the state of the machine pre and post hire will be kept.

7. TENS Machines must be returned within 7 days post birth. Often our machines are in high demand and have another eager couple waiting to hire! Preferred return option is for TENS machines to be dropped off in person to avoid delays in return (please liaise directly with us to arrange this). Return of TENS is via a small prepaid satchel (if requested for additional cost of $10). You then drop it at an Australia Post Office. They will provide you with a receipt so that you can let us know it was submitted in case anything goes wrong.

8. Machines/Cords & Probes MUST be cleaned using the antibacterial wipes provided after use. Respectful use of lent items is what keeps this a viable option for other women to use.

9. I recommend that you familiarise yourself with the TENS machine a few times before you go into labour to ensure you understand all the machines functions to enable you get the most out of the machine.

10. Additional hire fees of $50/week or part there of will be charged to credit card for late return.

11. In the event your machine is posted and does not arrive before your labour, you will be refunded the hire fee less postage costs.
